REDEVELOPMENT

Once the Logansport Mall, built in 1968, the property is being transformed into a modern outdoor shopping destination.

GROUNDBREAKING

An official groundbreaking ceremony for The Junction was not held due to COVID-19. However, Park Development representatives along with Logansport city officials gathered to celebrate the project in December 2019. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Home2 Suites by Hilton Hotel took place in October 2021. Pictured right are images of the ceremonies. Included are representatives of the First Farmers Bank & Trust, who are helping to finance the project.

Demolition

Partial demolition of the old Logansport Mall began on January 18, 2020. The former JCPenney store location was demolished to make room for the new Home 2 Suites Hilton. Crews also demolished the interior of the former Sears store. The northwest corner has been converted into a Planet Fitness.

Construction

"Although this was a very extensive undertaking, the construction process was seamless. We viewed The Junction as the premier retail shopping center in this area and were extremely excited to be a part of it from the very beginning." Alex Baker, COO Planet Fitness Baker Group

TRANSFORMATION

The eye-catching, beautiful new facade has large windows for maximum indoor sunlight. The stonework accents and natural colors add a rustic flair to the exterior. Its dynamic design, by GEA Architects, was created with Logansport's traditional values and stunning countryside in mind.
